As a Windows Systems and Capacity Planning Manager you'll be a leader in a team focused on providing the tooling, information and processes, to help ensure that our entire Windows-supported infrastructure remains stable so that we can effectively give our customers the service they've come to expect from us. As a Windows Systems and Capacity Planning Manager, you will ensure the strategic capacity planning tool is installed and working on all Windows servers. You will work closely with your immediate team and the Operations Support Engineers to ensure we keep one eye on the future by using the data the tool gives us to trend future capacity requirements. You will look to develop the whole capacity and performance function within Distributed Engineering, rolling the service out across 14,000 servers. This will enable the Operations team to predict any changes or upgrades that may need to be made to our Windows infrastructure estate. As a Systems and Capacity Manager, you'll offer innovation and technical leadership to your immediate team as well as to the wider Distributed Engineering team. You'll work with the solutions engineering team to establish best practice for performance enhancement changes, while simultaneously using your insight to challenge and improve current methods and approaches to performance and capacity management. You can expect to find yourself setting the strategy for performance and capacity management, while also building relationships and procedures to support WPG operations in the analysis, management and root cause resolution of severe incidents.

You will have a strong Wintel technical background and be used to driving new processes and procedures within a large Wintel estate environment.

Last but not least, since you'll quickly find yourself in an unstructured, ambiguous environment where you'll be expected to rapidly adapt your management style, you'll need to be a responsible, self-motivated individual.
