Tax Accountant
The purpose of the role is to complete tax compliance work to BNP Securities Services Clients.

Purpose of Department
The Tax Department exists to provide Tax Compliance services, and other services, to clients, and to other Departments of BNP.
This support includes:
•Tax calculation supplied to Trust Accounting
•Payments and refunds of tax made on time
•Tax returns prepared and submitted to H.M. Revenue & Customs
•Control of withholding tax rates posted on Hiport
•Dealing with Tax queries
•Reviewing clients reports such as Manager's Report before they are released

Key Responsibilities
•Maintaining the tax affairs of unit trusts and OEIC funds to the highest standard of accuracy and tax compliance, this includes preparing the interim and final accounting period tax provisions and ancillary calculations including accounts disclosure and the submission of CT600 and tax computation. Calculating and processing refunds and payment of tax including quarter instalments and CT61 returns.
•Maintaining the tax affairs of investment trust to the highest standards of accuracy and tax compliance, this includes preparing interim and final accounting period tax provisions and ancillary calculations, including accounts disclosure and the submission of CT600 and tax computation. Dealing with applications for Section 842 status, dealing with all refunds and payment of tax including quarter instalments.
•Monitor changes in withholding tax rates and assist with the maintenance of tax tables.
•Monitoring developments and deal with other tax issues as they arise Monitor and keep up to date on developments in taxation and those relating to unit Trusts, OEICs and investment trusts in particular.
•Management reporting and internal controls.
•Maintain and complete all internal control procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelors
Accounting cert. (Chartered Accountancy)
Experience: 7 years +
Languages: English : Speak / Write Fluently

•Part Qualified at least to the level of a Chartered Accountancy body or the Institute of Taxation. Alternatively, exception experience.
•In depth accounting and systems knowledge including all Microsoft applications.
•Experience of tax relating to investment vehicles.
•In-depth general corporation tax knowledge.
•In depth accounting and systems knowledge including all Microsoft applications.

Desirable:
•Previous experience of accounting amend the tax affairs of unit trusts, OEICs and investment trusts
•Working knowledge of overseas withholding.
