Within GBS, IBM has invested in a specialist Systems Rationalisation Practice. The mission of this Practice is to provide business-oriented IT solutions to our clients allowing them to reduce the complexity of their application estates, driving cost and complexity out of their businesses. Typically this involves large projects in the range £1-10m, lasting 1-3 years and involving both local and global delivery teams. The Systems Rationalisation Practice epitomises the GBS 3D strategy through deeper client relationships and differentiated solutions that are delivered globally.
In response to growing demand, IBM requires experienced Systems Rationalisation consultants within that Practice. Successful candidates will join a dynamic team which operates in all major industry sectors. Specifically, we require Managing Consultants who will lead solution development and delivery in Data Migration and Cleansing.
The ideal Systems Rationalisation Consultant will:
• Be a subject matter expert in the rationalisation of applications, gained through experience of shaping and delivering projects of this type and size
• Possess the problem-solving skills to shape systems rationalisation solutions that are tailored to our customers' requirements, defining the routemap of business and technical activities to achieve the aims of the project.
• Have a track record of successfully delivering large systems rationalisation engagements with characteristics as described above, using a significant proportion of global delivery resources
• Possess gravitas and leadership qualities, sufficient to lead other consulting and delivery staff through the delivery of these solutions.
• Possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal qualities, with the ability to establish credibility and work effectively with senior client representatives
Experience of specific technologies is not a core requirement of this role as our solutions are typically delivered by IBM technical specialists based in one of IBM’s global delivery centres.
Experience of specific industries is not essential, but ideal candidates will have experience of working in a least 3 different industry sectors and, in each of those, will be able to articulate the specific industry challenges presented by systems rationalisation.
Successful candidates will possess excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal qualities, gravitas and leadership.
Experience of the rationalisation of applications, problem-solving skills, a track record of successfully delivering large systems rationalisation engagements, and the ability to articulate the specific industry challenges presented by systems rationalisation are required. |
