Solutions Architecture Manager III
Global Services Software Development (GSSD) is looking for an experienced software engineering development manager who will manage a team of resources (7-10 software engineers) and lead software development at a Dell site in Glasgow, Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of development of features to be incorporated into a new SaaS product line as supporting the sustainment development of existing deployment toolsets.

The SaaS platform is based on Microsoft Windows applications that enable Dell’s Image Management and Deployment services for customers. This individual should have familiarity with development tools such as C++, C#, .NET and MS SQL and experience in structured methodologies.

The candidate is required to exhibit mature solution architecture knowledge and show experience in commercially developed software. It is required that the candidate has present/past managerial and leadership skills, but still shows active development knowledge and experience. The candidate also needs to have excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).

•BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines or equivalent work experience required
•Be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of experience in both a technical and people management role.
•MCSD/MCSE, PMP, and/or other certifications a plus

Leadership – specific:
· Strong technical/relevant experience with configuration or systems management technologies. Understanding of imaging and deployment technologies a plus.
· Experience with development and delivery of complex and distributed software solution solutions, with.Net, C# and SQL Server
· Experience with multi-site/distributed development
· Strong project management skills
· Experience with managing/working with 3rd parties, vendors and product licensing
· Strong people management skills, with ability to hire and retain high caliber software talent
· Experience with software as a service (SaaS) is a significant plus; experience in performance/scalability strongly desired
· Experience working with remote development teams
· Experience managing a budget
· Strong customer and usability focus
· Previous experience with executive communication
· Ability to strike reasonable balance between effective software development processes (requirements, design, prototyping, coding, development testing, automation, security) and having highly productive and innovative development teams
Process – specific:
•Highly advanced working knowledge of software engineering processes and methodologies. Responsible for the development and delivery of software tools, processes and solutions. Knowledge of various project methodologies (e.g. waterfall, iterative, MSF, and Agile).
· Understanding of Microsoft Team Foundation Server, automated builds and continuous integration a plus
•Must be details oriented
•Must be a self-starter, self-directed, and self-motivated
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent analytical skills
•Must be comfortable working with global teams spread across multiple global regions
•Knowledge of various project methodologies (e.g. waterfall, iterative, MSF, and Agile)
