To ensure that the developed Application Group solutions conform to the business requirements and system specifications
Major responsibilities and accountabilities:
•Manage the implementation of projects from start to completion, including other team members as required
•Working with business analysts and technical leads to review and provide feedback on project documentation such as functional requirements.
•Creating test plans and test specifications for test design, sharing these with the project team, and maintaining these through the project, and ensuring sufficient test coverage is documented and completed
•Creating functional/system test scripts for new functionality, updating and reviewing existing test scripts to account for Change Requests and improve on regression testing.
•Working with and providing input to the Test Policy, Procedures and Standards and the Test Strategy
•Manual test execution of test scripts, regression scripts and smoke tests
•Automated test execution of test scripts, regression scripts and smoke tests
•Development of non-functional testing expertise within the Application Group
•Managing the approval & implementation process of Change Requests raised by users in coordination with the project team.
•Defect recording and where appropriate performing initial root cause investigation. Defect monitoring and reporting. Working with the UAT team during UAT defect resolution.
•Manage the scheduling of daily builds into the System Test Environment. Assist in the planned scheduling of UAT releases with the UAT team.
•Update test lead and team members with status of testing / issues on a regular basis (informal communication, progress reporting and by defect reports)
•Monitor own task assignments on projects to ensure timely and successful completion of projects
•To identify and participate in test process improvement activities whilst supporting existing processes
•Support the team lead in the management of both staff and projects |

•Proven expertise in working on web-front end and other technologies from both a functional and non-functional perspective
•Experience on one or more testing projects in a Senior Test Analyst role and in leading a testing project on a medium and/or large software implementation
•Extensive use of test and incident management tools on testing projects (ideally Rational Products)
•ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing and ideally higher level ISEB/ISTQB certificates or the desire to complete the higher level qualifications
•Experience with SQL to interrogate databases
•Experience with Business Objects / Reporting Services / OLAP cubes to test reports, universes and ad-hoc reports
•Willingness and ability to support, mentor and coach other team members in support of the Test Team Lead
•Ability to identify and implement process changes
•Commitment to software testing as a discipline
