Front line Synthetics support role facing off directly to the Front Office, Middle Office and Client Service groups. Key skills are stakeholder management, problem solving ability, pro-activity and the ability to own issues through to resolution. Sitting on the trading floor, as part of a global support team for Synthetic Prime Brokerage. The team is currently 3 in London and 2 in HK, who in combination support the two applications that provide the SPB platform.
Daily support work would typically include dealing with user queries, batch and SLA management, management of the core application (Spear) and working with infrastructure on environment issues. Spear is the heart of a large web of systems in the Prime technology space, so a key part of the role will be dealing with other internal and external technology systems.
Small enhancement work to the environment around Spear, working in Unix shell script, Perl and SQL. Exposure to C++, C# and Java would be a plus, but not absolutely necessary.
The role will require occasional overnight on-call support cover. The level of this will reduce as we implement a follow the sun support model, but will always be part of the role. Daytime working hours are geared to early and late shifts (8 - 5, 9.30 - 7), and the role would require the person to be available for both, again on a rota basis. 3 Key Objectives critical to success of the role (if applicable):
· Ability to analyse complex scenarios from both a technical and business perspective and deliver solutions
· Ability to deliver to deadlines in a environment where multiple competing requirements are a part of the job
· Strong ownership ethos, ensuring the queries are resolved through to completion
