To strengthen SAP’s Global Field Service & Support (FSS) Travel & Logistics (T&L) Hub, we have an open position for an experienced SAP Solution Architect for Railways Rolling Stock. SAP’s FSS T&L Hub’s key purpose is to make T&L industry process knowledge & SAP solution resources available globally in the smartest way to deliver a differentiated value to our customers and better margins to SAP. The Hub has three building blocks: Hub Management: strategy & service portfolio management, knowledge management, partner management, resource management, business case development (e.g. packaged services, studies), leverage work from cross-industry task forces and other global Hubs. Task Force: sales support, project set up, issue resolution & de-escalation support, advisory & quality assurance, collaboration and interaction with Development, IBU, Global Delivery, Custom Development, Business Transformation Consulting, Education & Global Active Support. Special Expertise: expert services, QA, safeguarding, solution design expertise, skill transfer, programme management, solution architects, principal/senior consultants.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS - Creative individual who can provide expert services, best industry practices and advice to strategic customers and outline to-be system architecture to successfully implement end-to-end railways rolling stock processes. - Pro-actively support sales and consulting colleagues with opportunity qualifications and executions. - Support responses to RFX and assess project risks and costs based on deep solution and industry know-how. - Propose innovative delivery models (e.g. Integrated Service Delivery) to make an SAP difference to our customers by reducing project risks and costs. - At any time in a project phase, capable to take over responsibility as the team leader. - Support escalations to resolution working with local teams. - Be the lead for building and growing (Knowledge Management) a strong FSS Railways Rolling Stock community. - Collaborate closely with relevant internal SAP Practice Groups and Task Forces for optimal leverage both ways. - Close collaboration with SAP Development, SAP Custom Development and the T&L IBU team to define key functional requirements related to railways rolling stock. - Take responsibility for delivering a relevant and innovative SAP service package for railways rolling stock (business analysis, testing, GTM, delivery, support) involving all stakeholders in the FSS community. - On a need-be basis deliver and run SAP / railways rolling stock related workshops (internal and external audiences). - Work pro-actively with partners to ensure correct SAP positioning and safeguarding in projects. - Keep abreast of industry trends and keep up to date with all solution related development and ensure that such knowledge is disseminated appropriately according to the Knowledge Management frame-work in FSS. - Directly report to the Global Head of the FSS T&L Hub. |

For any candidates to be considered for this important position, we require the following: Extensive industry experience in railways rolling stock operations. International work experience. Deep SAP solution / implementation experience as a project leader. Deep understanding of core processes related to management of railways rolling stock. Practical SAP solution (SAP ERP, EAM, PM, SCM, EWM) implementation experience at a railways infrastructure provider. Know-how in the detailed end-to-process design, integration as well as implementation connecting SAP and non-SAP systems. Experience with competitors and Best-of-Breed solutions is beneficial. Good experience in the Customer Engagement Life cycle from requirement identification, consulting and pre-sales through to design, build and implementation.
Fundamental know-how in the area of business process framework architecture, legacy system migration and application integration. Project Management, consulting methodology and coaching skills. Strong analytical skills, result-oriented and effectiveness in problem solving. Excellency in conflict management and de-escalation. Ease in presenting complex information to customers in a clear, well documented and trustworthy manner. Considered an advantage to have an established railways industry network: internal (SAP Development, IBU) and external (customers, influencers, partners). Team player and ability to work successfully in culturally diverse environments. Strong networking and customer relationship management capabilities. Natural ability to coach, share, document and transfer knowledge to colleagues to rapidly increase SAP’s capacity to deliver. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. |
