Working closely with the Synthetic Products business you will on responsibilities within the Distribution and Core Platform as well as the Risk and Inventory Management streams. You will work closely with management, traders, business development staff and IT developers to design, build and support the risk management interfaces required to support existing products sets and roll out new Synthetic products. You will be part of an established global development team operating in Sydney, New York, London and Hong Kong.
Your responsibilities will include: Eliciting requirements by directly interacting with trading desk and other business staff Assisting with designing system flows and overall platform architecture Designing and the development of systems within a Service Oriented Architecture Investigating and resolving support issues where Global Operations team are unable to assist Adhering to standard change, development and quality assurance methodology and processes |

University degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent In-depth knowledge of Financial markets - equities, derivatives and especially synthetics (Swaps/PNotes) Excellent problem solving and communication skills Proven track record working well under pressure to provide timely and accurate solutions to systems problems Experience developing with real-time trading systems Proactive and flexible approach to work Strong fundamental understanding of Object Oriented design and common design patterns Sound development experience in Java Enterprise Java/J2EE (Servlet/JSP/JDBC/JMS/EJB) String understanding of open-source frameworks and libraries, especially Spring, Hibernate, JUnit Exposure to implementing and consuming Web Services Experience with J2ee Application Server (JBoss preferred) Strong relational database experience (Sybase preferred) Experience in using development IDEs such as Eclipse Previously used CVS or SVN, and Ant + Ivy Experience running Java applications on UNIX infrastructure Exposure to continuous build and iterative development Exposure to maintaining or developing IT systems that run in multiple time zones/regions |
