To manage existing vendor partnerships maximising sales, market share and profitability. Equally important is the ability to seek out and build new partnerships to take the category forward. To use experience to drive necessary change within the department introducing best practice and improving the way cross functional teams work together. To act as a role model to other team members. Main activities will be; negotiation of cost pricing and vendor support, monitoring the competition, spotting new trends and getting there first, identifying and filling selection gaps, selling our business to vendors, improving the way we work as a department and finally raising the profile of the Toys department both internally and within the industry.
Key responsibilities:
Negotiation with vendors and manufacturers Management of key performance metrics; sales revenue, sales units, market share, profit contribution and vendor support. Increase selection Working with the category team to maintain availability Building vendor partnerships, working to become preferred customer Working with category team to improve customer experience Preparing management reports Implementation of ad-hoc projects Development and coaching of junior members of staff Building networks across other areas of the business to help get the job done |
