The Senior Buyer encompasses all aspects of vendor management, trading and on site presentation and marketing for a large category within a spefici business unit. Primary responsibilities include the definition and delivery of revenue and margin budgets, vendor terms negotiations and on going marketing planning, and leadership of a broader cross functional team to define and deliver on site improvements to develop the customer offer for the category. Senior Buyers are the main point of interaction with vendors, and represent Amazon at trade fairs, vendor meetings etc. Explaining Amazon’s strategy and helping vendors understand how they can work with us to best realise the opportunity is a key part of the role.

- Revenue
- Margin
- Vendor terms improvements
- Market segment share
- Availability (through interaction with Control Buying team)
- Inventory levels and health (through interaction with Control Buying team)
- Definition and on site execution of marketing plan (through interaction with Site Merchandising team)
- On site improvements in customer offer (through leadership of broader cross functional team international support team) |

- Significant experience of buying/vendor management
- Experience of having full accountability for trading revenue and margin
- The ability to lead broad cross-functional teams to deliver enhancements to the cutsomer offer as well as short term trading metrics
- Experience of lead negotiations with large consumer brands to agree annual trading terms, define trading and marketing plans, and operational KPI's
- Building relationships with brands at the level of Sales Director and above
- Demonstrable experience of leading brands to deliver mutually agreed trading plans
- The ability to work in fast pace while retaining strong attention to detail
- High standard of education or compensating work experience |
