The Team Leader will manage and motivate a team of Relationship Managers to deliver exceptional sales and business performance through driving a world class sales culture and maintaining sound risk management. They will deliver first rate sales management practices across the team whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management parameters. A key element of the role is to develop a sales plan that will achieve a targeted income to contribute to the overall goals of Wealth International within Barclays Wealth.
Core accountabilities Sales Management Works with the Business Director to drive sales targets to achieve immediate financial goals and profitable sustained growth through providing clients with a world class service. Develops a team sales plan and is responsible for its delivery, while also managing costs and income within an agreed budget and driving improvements within the business. Leadership Energises, challenges and leads effective sales and service delivery and culture across the team. Is responsible for coaching, training and development needs to ensure talent is grown. Takes responsibility for the people management agenda, including resourcing and driving a high performance culture within the team. Risk Management Controls and manages operational risk for the team by ensuring adherence to all internal and International Banking risk policies and regulatory requirements. Adheres to all such standards, both legal and regulatory to avoid exposing the business to undue risk (This includes the Bank’s guidelines on Customer Acceptance, Data Protection Act, Cross Border Policy, Anti Money Laundering, Know Your Customer, Financial Crimes, Prohibitions and Sanctions). Client Service Management Proactively identifies and monitors key client service issues to ensure the team delivers exceptional service. Follows customer satisfaction surveys, supports the Business Director in delivering action plans to increase sales performance |

The right candidate will have knowledge of Data Protection Act /Consumer Credit Act / Financial Services Authority and equivalent local legislation, to ensure compliance with the Bank’s regulatory requirements. This role requires strong knowledge of the UK / Global economic and political conditions, current affairs and competitor activity and the implications of these on our clients. The candidate will have a proven successful track record along with experience in a front line team leadership role within a banking and/or wealth management/financial services background. First class general academic track record and either have at least CEFA or FPC 1 The successful candidate will have the ability to motivate and lead, with a focus on continuous team improvement and a strong desire to develop the business. The job holder will be action oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement in all areas of work. You should be able to deliver quality results with a challenging but positive and influential style. The right candidate will be creative but pragmatic, conceptual, but able to deliver at speed. A relationship builder with a reputation for integrity, who can evoke rapid trust and openness in clients, colleagues and team members alike. The right candidate will have an excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels. Aptitude in numeracy is desirable. Preferred (although not essential) is the ability to speak a foreign language |
