Quality Engineer
DuPont Microcircuit Materials is a global, technology-based organisation with a wide-ranging portfolio of microcircuit products for industries as diverse as automotive, photovoltaic and telecommunications, many of which are individually customised for a client's requirements. The European Technical Centre is located in Bristol and is part of a worldwide network with other sites located across America and Asia.

Role & Responsibilities:
•Support, and occasionally lead, problem solving teams in response to customer complaints and internal near misses. This is in conjunction with the Complaint Coordinator and supported by Assistance to Operations (ATO) team and the Technical Service centre.
•Develop and Implement Quality Improvement projects. Cascade and apply learnings from complaint and near miss investigations to related areas (using pareto on root cause definition to prioritise projects) and feeding into Technical and Operations teams to enable.
•Be a strong driver of Quality, ever strengthening the quality culture across the whole organisation.
•Active member of the QA team to support Quality
•Focus on 'up stream' quality and feed direction & requirements into ATO for product and process standardisation
•Identify quality needs with external suppliers
•Opportunity to join internal audit team
•Longer term: Lead 'knowledge management' within the Bristol site following the Japanese Black belt roll out
Qualifications: Bachelors
Other Certification (Six Sigma green belt)
Experience: 7 years +
Languages: English : Speak / Write Fluently

•Background in a physical science or materials-related discipline required. University degree preferred
•Experienced Technical background required, understanding of Thick Film paste would be an advantage
•Six Sigma green belt or equivalent knowledge on statistical methods and quality tools, incl Gauge R&R, SPC, CpK, and work effectively within this methodology
•Excellent problem solving & analytical skills, and an understanding of what tests necessary to determine problem / root cause / investigation path and identify cause and effect
•Experience of root cause analysis
•Understanding of Quality management and quality systems and a passion for driving quality improvement
•Ability to feedback quality knowledge into new designs using QFD, FMEA
•Strong communication skills
•Able to lead quality related investigations
•Open enthusiastic personality and ability / eagerness to drive continuous improvement with a determination to succeed
•Good team player and ability to work in multi cultural organisation
•Be willing to conduct occasional business travel
