Property Section is responsible for managing the Bank's buildings and infrastructure, through capital investment plans and infrastructure projects. It also provides Building Services and civil engineering project managers to support other Bank areas specialist infrastructure, plant and equipment. The project managers are responsible for the replacement of the plant assets in accordance with a 20 year plan and Bank project management methodology.
Property Section currently employs 5 Project Managers, who report to the Head of Property in Finance Division and, for some specific projects, report to Project Business Owners. All project managers are based at the Bank of England’s Head Office in London but may spend considerable time at one of the Bank’s other locations in the London area (Debden or Roehampton), Leeds, or the Bank’s Agencies depending on the projects they are managing. We are looking for an experienced Building Services project manager to work within the Property Section within the Finance Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of one of the Bank's infrastructure asset replacement projects. The role is based at the Bank of England’s Head Office in London but may spend considerable time at one of the Bank’s other locations in the London area or the Bank’s Agencies depending on the project portfolio. Please note this is a 18 month contract
Reporting to a senior project manager and the Project Business Owner, the Building Services project manager will be responsible for the day to day management of one of the Bank of England’s infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities are: · clarifying and agreeing project scope; · estimating, securing and then controlling budgets, which may be up to £10mn; · building, implementing and monitoring delivery plans and schedules; · building, implementing and managing the team, which may consist of Bank employees, consultants and contractors; · procuring suppliers, negotiating and implementing supplier contracts and managing supplier relationships; · delivering project scope including any consequent business change; · managing project communications with Project Business Owners, Project Sponsors and Project Boards; · providing expert technical leadership in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services. The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline: Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services engineering. The successful candidate will also have: · proven successful project management experience including the sucessful delivery of several projects which have a significant electrical and mechanical component; · proven ability to manage risk; · proven commercial experience in procurement and contract negotiation and management; · strong prioritisation and decision making skills; · a commitment to work in teams as a leader and as a team member; · excellent communications skills (in writing, via presentation and in person). |
