Cargill is currently recruiting a Process Technician for our Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain Business Unit in Liverpool. The primary purpose of this position is to operate the plant safely and efficiently whilst maximising and optimising production through the best utilisation of the plant's equipment. Principal Accountabilities Safe working within the plant and ensure that the working environment is maintained to the highest standard of safety Awareness of the Environmental Permit for the site and the operating conditions and limits within it. Must be able to operate within a fast moving, flexible and self-managed environment Be capable of maximising production whilst staying within defined quality parameters Start up, shutdown and operation of the process with maximum efficiency and minimum utilisation of energy, chemicals etc Coordinate with own and site support teams regarding production, handover and training requirements Assist with new projects, SWIFT studies and PI/trend analysis, offloading chemicals and products Carry out mandatory site safety tests and inspections - Critical Safety Devices, Fire Pumps, MSA'S and safety surveys Carry out regular flaker and expeller surveys Monitor and control quality parameters with 'on-line' and laboratory data. Make necessary process adjustments to ensure that product quality is assured. Perform electrical and process isolations as required during normal running and plant shutdown situations and comply with Permit Systems requirements Use Maximo system (in house computer system) to report and track any maintenance issues or safety issues found during the shift Complete shift logs for their area and enter stock levels. This will be done via computerised systems. All teams will need to monitor stocks and liaise with relevant departments in regard to restocking items, chemical or equipment. Process cleaning and housekeeping will be a part of everyday duties including auditing and control of documentation in representation of the site hygiene - including silo and pellet mill management. In process quality testing and analysis EFSIS, FEMAS and ISO documentation completed and filed. Monitor and comply with site HACCP Programmes Write and work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's and CTP's). Manage process interruptions during shift i.e. trouble shoot situation, find basic cause, make decision whether temporary repair can be made or need to stop production to repair immediately, coordinate repair and plant restart, communicate to all relevant parties on break downs and EDT matters. Achieve minimization of callouts. Each shift team with have champions for designated areas such as , Energy monitoring, continuous improvements e.g. wmf's, meal moistures, innovation, problem solving, communication, Auditor/Plant Inspector, housekeeping, FLT Driver, First Aider etc. Work in a self managed culture where the team work together to achieve the objectives set Technicians are expected to contribute effort into the group and attend the regular communications meetings and training sessions in order to keep up to date with skills, events and issues within the team/business. |

NVQ III/HNC in mechanical or chemical engineering, or process engineering, Strong experience within an industrial process environment. 5 GCSE's grade A-C (including English and Maths) Computer literate
