Cargill is currently recruiting a Process Improvement Engineer for our Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain Business Unit in Liverpool, Brocklebank Docks. the purpose if this positionn is to provide a leadership role in the implementation of new or modified processes, plant and equipment from initial concept through to design development and evaluation to construction and handover. The job holder will act as a central focus in communication both internally and externally and will work closely with shopfloor production teams providing technical support and training
Principal Accountabilities Environment, Health & Safety * Compliance with all EHS legislation and standards including as an awareness of the Environmental Permit for the site and the operating conditions and limits within it.
Reducing variable operational cost This would include: * Process benchmarking and optimisation of e.g. process yield, TUC factor, crush/refinery product streams * Advanced troubleshooting in Crushing/Refinery Processes * Provide -and maintain an inventory of Best Practices in refining and key processing items * Lead in -and contribute to the Development of Process Best Practices * Implementation of Crushing/Refining Best Practices (involving the Process Centers of Excellence) to minimise duplication of effort ("re-inventing the wheel") * Kilowatt king: monitoring and reporting Resource Efficiency data and trends * Maintain the Energy Management plan * Contribute to resource efficiency projects * Lead Behaviour Based Energy Management initiatives
Improve Process By * Searching for and recognising opportunities when visiting plants, equipment manufacturers, exhibitions etc * Searching for -and implementing state-of-the-art equipment * Implementing modifications of existing equipment, tailored to specific needs or opportunities * Performing de-bottlenecking studies -and implementing results in projects * Securing optimal integration of Refining Processes in terms of mass/energy consumption * Communicating achievement through appropriate channels, e.g. COE, Best Practices
The objective is to achieve world class leading operational results for the crush/refineries in Europe from lower energy costs, lower consumption of chemicals and additives, higher product yields, less waste production etc. Engineering * Provide Process Engineering support for capital projects (e.g. mass -and energy balances, specifications, MOC) * Set-up and maintain a system for specifications and drawings of key crush/refinery equipment (including central archive of information) * Benchmarking projects (on scope, versus cost, time, performance) * Lead in -and contribute to the development -and implementation of Process Engineering Best Practices * Implement Best Engineering Practices (e.g. FEL implementation) * Assist in the Development of new processes in crush/refining * Assist in-and perform feasibility studies for Development projects * Assist in -and perform feasibility studies for Capital projects The objective is to ensure efficient selection and execution of projects (cheaper, quicker, better, lower Total Cost of Ownership) Production * Support and stand-in for production coordinators including production support team call-out
Technicians are expected to contribute effort into the group and attend the regular communications meetings and training sessions in order to keep up to date with skills, events and issues within the team/business. |

* University degree in Chemical, Process (or similar) Engineering. * Strong experience in processing industry, possibly including Engineering and Project Management * Strong analytical skills * Ability to make decisions under pressure and time constraints according to the foundational principles of engineering * Ability to assess risk and define methods to mitigate risk * Ability to Define, measure and analyse a process scenario for the benefit of improvement utilizing a structured problem solving approach. * Strong communication skills, English fluent and preferably a second language |
