SAP provides a comprehensive range of enterprise software applications and business solutions that adds value for leading companies worldwide. As the management consulting team of SAP, Business Transformation Services (BTS) works with SAP customers to:
- Develop & align business processes, IT and strategic goals - Prepare investment decisions based on detailed business case examinations - Improved business processes to receive the value from the IT Solutions - Drive transformational organization change within implementation projects - Enable value optimization (total value of ownership) and cost reductions (total cost of operation) - Ensure customers value realization via IT governance and engagement management
Overall, the BTS goal is to create flexible, cross-company processes which positively influence company’s growth, profitability, and strategic positioning. As a senior member of BTS, the role of the Principal Business Consultant is to:
- Be a trusted advisor to executive management that aligns customer’s business and IT - Identify customer value opportunities and generate demand through consultative selling - Maintain the overview and directing specialists in delivery - Ensure customer value delivery and realization by leading business transformation engagements - Provide thought leadership on the use of SAP solutions to drive business value - Be a catalyst for successful SAP license and services sales - Act as a mentor and role model for business transformation services - Actively participate in and lead an industry or specialization topic community - Drive innovation in business transformation services
The Principal Business Consultant is a key contributor to the success of our customers and plays a leading role in shaping and achieving the overall BTS goals.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS - Generate BTS sales, including positioning, proposals, bidding and contract management - Lead projects and customer workshops involving alignment of multiple teams, including people from different departments, regions and cultures - Manage customer challenges and escalations in a proactive and structured manner - Deliver business transformation services e.g. IT strategy & roadmaps, business process management (BPM), enterprise architecture (EA), organization change management (OCM), value analysis (VA), TCO analysis, business cases or value realization (VR) - Contribute to service development, promoting BTS and knowledge communities - Participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring of colleagues - Demonstrate thought leadership by writing white papers and making presentations

Bachelors degree, Masters degree (preferably in business/economics, finance, IT or engineering) or an MBA Extensive knowledge in a relevant Industry e.g. Utilities, Consumer Products, Banking etc. Knowledge of SAP portfolio of solutions Understanding of IT trends and their impact on business strategies Advanced certification e.g. PMP, PgMP, ITIL, or TOGAF Excellent verbal and written English language Excellent communication & presentation skills Strong problem solving abilities & out-of-the box thinking High degree of mobility Results driven: starts, drives and accomplishes tasks with little direction Team oriented: builds strong relationships at every level of the organization and is a strong motivator who knows how to influence others to do their best work 9+ years experience in relevant industries In depth experience on one or more industry business processes Experience in delivering business transformation services Track record of successful business development and sales Demonstrated business acumen and management consulting experience Experience in delivering SAP solution implementations Extensive leadership / program / project management experience Proven ability to interact with and maintain productive work relations with customer CxO’s Strong awareness of global cultural differences; previous work experience in a multi-national environment preferred |
