Phoenix Funding require a senior business/system analysts to join the current team to work on the development and delivery of Releases 3 and 4 (and subsequent releases still to be planned) of the program. This is a “hands on” role, leveraging the individual’s experience and expertise to both complete specific analysis work and supervise the work of other business/system analysts. Specifically the candidate will:
•Agree release deliverables, develop a detailed workplan, highlighting workstream interdependencies and resource requirements •Track progress against the plan, identifying/escalating issues as appropriate and report status •Work with Finance team to clarify the end-state accounting model, balance sheet calculation and reporting requirements for a specific product or set of products or required functionality •Identify and explain any gaps between the required functional design/behaviour and what is achievable for the current implementation phase given legacy system, operating procedure and data constraints •Develop detailed technical specifications to implement the agreed functional design/ behaviour, identifying data sources required, data mapping/posting rules, calculation services and reporting specifications •Supervise the work of other business/systems analysts to ensure consistency and correct interaction between technical specifications •Work with the QA and Development teams to confirm that the technical specifications are complete, unambiguous, understood & review the proposed QA and UAT test plans to ensure that they are comprehensive •Work with the QA and Development teams during QA and Finance during UAT to analyse, explain and correct issues that arise during the testing cycles |

The candidates will have previous balance sheet and/or sub-ledger development experience, a sound understanding of accounting principals, be knowledgeable about the lifecycle of the products traded in the capital markets and have an understanding of at least four of the following •Secured Funding (Repo/Stock Borrow) •Collateralization and Financing of Listed/OTC Derivatives •Treasury Operations & Currency Funding •Economic Capital and Liquidity Management •Trading P&L and Cost Accounting Methodologies •FX Hedging Strategies •Accounting for Corporate Actions •Sub-ledger/General Ledger Interface •Strong IT systems/business analysis background ( the candidate may have 10+ years experience). •Degree educated •Ability to operate within large & dynamic project environment with many workstream/task interdependencies •Ability to demonstrate a detail oriented, organized and analytical approach, strong technical design skills and an ability to work through complex issues in a methodical and complete manner •Ability to analyze data (often pulling data from existing source systems), draw appropriate conclusions and develop development/action plans based on the data analysis completed •Knowledge of SQL, use of data query tools such as DbArtisan, advanced use of Excel •First class oral & written communication skills •Experience of Morgan Stanley or competitor environment |
