This is a new role for an experienced Oracle DBA to work within a dedicated team supporting the UBS Global Asset Management business. The team supports a variety of technology platforms including Oracle, SQL Server and Informix. The DBA Team is located in London and plays a key role in the day to day running of the business. Primarily engaged in infrastructure support with additional responsibilities for 2nd and 3rd line support, run-the-bank and change-the-bank activities
This role is specifically targeted at extending our expertise to the Global Asset Management development community.
Your job will give you the opportunity to work in a small and highly efficient team with strong commitment to excellence.
Your job will expose you to a wide variety of technologies, investment products, expertise and product specialists.
Your role will involve a high degree of liaison with Global AM Architecture, Development and Infrastructure teams.
You will be expected to play a strong and immediate role in the team, taking responsibility for improving the overall performance of our database applications.
You will see your contributions quickly impacting on the day to day operation of the business. |

You must be equipped with the following
• Mathematically based degree or Equivalent
• Commercial track record as a Production or Development DBA
• Advanced Oracle 10g/11g skills with experience of RAC, ASM and Clusterware
• Excellent all round communications skills
• Demonstratable PLSQL and SQL Tuning skills
• Experience of working in a team with tactical and strategic responsibilities
• A desire to follow and drive best practice
The following would be highly desirable
• Experience with other database platforms (MSSQL, Informix/DB2) |
