The London Physical Oil Confirmations team is responsible for the confirmation and affirmation of all Physical Oil, Coal and Freight trades. This involves drafting legally binding documents outlining the economics and physical delivery terms of each trade. The team covers a wide range of products including Crude, Gasoline, Distillates, Fuel Oil, Freight and Coal, working closely with the trading desks as well as the Shipping Operations team.
The team has an open position for an experienced Confirmation Drafter to join the Operations Commodities Confirmation team. The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Drafting and sending confirmations, incorporating trade economics, complex physical delivery clauses and legal terms
- Reviewing, understanding and drafting a response to Counterparty confirmations, ensuring that the Counterparty details match what has been booked by Morgan Stanley
- Liaising with Traders and Ship Operations to resolve trade discrepancies
- Chasing Counterparties to affirm each trade, verbally agreeing the economics as well as agreeing the delivery and legal clauses
- Reviewing Broker contracts and ensuring that the Broker trade details match what has been booked by Morgan Stanley
- Responding to queries from Ship Ops, Demurrage on a timely basis
- Escalating and resolving any trade discrepancies, on a daily basis |

- Organised, structured worker who is self motivated and able to manage their own workload according to tight deadlines
