Part of the HSBC Global Legal Function, the jobholder will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on litigation and regulatory issues in the UK.
We are seeking a qualified lawyer to proactively assist the business in effectively managing legal risk whilst ensuring legal service requirements are delivered on time, within budget and specification. The role will require you to successfully manage a caseload of complex litigation matters and you'll be responsible for providing a high quality litigation service to clients. A significant part of the role is focused on building relationships with clients, suppliers and the business and you’ll therefore have excellent communication and relationship management skills. You’ll also be a capable and credible leader who can inspire others in a multi-skilled, diverse professional team.

To succeed in this role you must have experience working in a financial services organisation in a similar role, or you’ll have previously worked in a private practice law firm. You’ll also have a relevant experience of handling litigation and regulatory matters including regulatory investigations with a strong understanding of court practice and procedure. You’ll be a self starter who can work to their own initiative and you’ll always ensure that all advice and support is aligned with key business objectives and the Bank’s strategies of “Treating Customers Fairly” and “Best Place to Bank”. The successful candidate will also have a resilient and focused outlook with the ability to work effectively in challenging conditions with a keen focus on delivering high quality solutions to meet business needs.
