Lead Infrastructure Engineer / BT Cloud
BT is currently building a wide-range of products and services that support Cloud Computing as well as one of the fastest and most reliable networks needed to make it work. BT intends to aggressively grow its market position via unique network and software capabilities. This is a rare opportunity to help one of the world's most successful networked services companies as we launch our Cloud and VDC offerings. Key purposes of the role: To design and develop scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions in support of Cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:
Leading the development effort of Cloud services virtualization solution to provide stable and scalable solutions
Work closely with internal and external end users to capture requirements and implement solutions using agile practices
Design and develop the bare metal solution for Cloud
Provide End to End network integration solution
Design and develop streamlined remote server management solution
Expected to take clear ownership for solution areas and be capable of delivering these to required timescales

Business Impact:
Provides technical solutions and new innovative services
Makes major technical/professional contribution to business strategy
May manage a line, matrixed or virtual project team
Manages major part of the development of services, with significant financial control
Responsible for planning of major components and project delivery to required time, cost, quality and budget using an agile approach and in line with the BT Operating Model
Qualifications: Bachelors
Experience: 10 years +
Languages: English : Speak / Write Fluently

Extensive experience in large scale Data centre solution design
Strong expertise in VLAN and other Data Centre Ethernet solutions
Experience in design and management of large scale SAN environments
Strong expertise in various Operating system with focus on Linux
Basic level network knowledge
Agile Development
Expertise in various server management methods including IPMI
Experience in MPLS and other L3 Network protocols
Working knowledge of Xen and Eucalyptus
Working knowledge of other hypervisors (VMWare, Hyper-V)
Test Driven Development/Automated testing practices and tools
Continuous build and integration practices and tools
