Group Finance IT Project Manager
This is a Project Management role within the Group Finance IT Change team within the Investment Bank. The successful candidate will have full management responsibility for one or more complex projects focussed on meeting Regulatory Reporting or Global Group Financeling requested changes, as well as managing and integrating change activity involving Finance systems, processes and organisation. Possible infrastructure assignments range from managing the implementation of a full front-to-back infrastructure for processing business in a new UBS Branch, to supporting changes upstream to/within the Global General Ledger (GGL) and managing impact to financial/regulatory reporting. This involves managing delivery and stakeholders across a range of functions including IT, Finance, Operations and the respective product businesses.

The role will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects, from initiation, planning, executing, through to production handover. Key tasks include:
• Overall management of the project including the creation of the Project Initiation documents or statements of work
• Ensuring appropriate levels of Sponsor commitment and engagement for the project(s)
• Identify and satisfy resource needs as project requirements dictate ensuring that overall engagement objectives are met.
• Ensuring achievement of business and engagement goals including deliverable quality, project schedule and financial objectives
• Meeting or exceeding client expectations and client satisfaction objectives
• Establishing and operating effective project governance
• Working with stakeholders to ensure that adequate skilled resources are assigned to the project
• Implement project Group Finances and track delivery progress
• Engaging business analysts, system developers and end-users at appropriate stages in the project lifecycle
• Reviewing and quality assuring project deliverables
• Establishing and managing contractual arrangements with external vendors, as required
• Managing project risks, issues and dependencies (RIDS.)

• Strong core project management process knowledge
• Proven ability to manage change within given budgets and timelines
• Broad knowledge of front-to-back banking processes, with specific knowledge of financial Group Finance
• Able to facilitate/influence finance technical architecture discussions
• Comfortable managing highly-matrixed teams, with people from a diversity of backgrounds and cultures
• Well developed business communication skills – both written and verbal
• Naturally facilitative approach to problem solving
• Political sensitivity and astuteness
• Stature to influence at a senior level, cross-functionally and cross-divisionally
• Confidence to challenge assumptions and ‘pushback’ on unreasonable demands where necessary
• Strong personal prioritisation and time management

For the successful candidate, this role offers considerable autonomy and profile with management within IT, Finance and the broader UBS community. As an experienced project manager, you will be expected to actively support the UBS growth agenda by coaching and developing staff. Although initially you will have no direct staff management responsibility, you will be expected to inspire and lead an extended project team through a matrix management structure.
