EU Credit Solutions Group (CSG)specialises in proving bespoke structured transactions to meet specific client needs. As such the group is comprised of a number of reasonably diverse units ranging from a vanilla assets swaps business through bespoke illiquid asset solutions to longevity trading. DB has an enviable client franchise and is one of the key participants in the evolution of the credit derivatives market in response to recent market turbulence. EU CSG generates significant revenue for the Investment Bank and has a profile within the business consistent with this.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
The role is financial manager, who’s remit it to provide strategic partnership to the business supporting business decisions in addition to the traditional role of ownership of the P&L, balance sheet and control environment. Face off is to the typical key stakeholders – heads of trading and other front office personnel - as well as: accounting policy and advisory group, global valuations group (price verification, model validation), market risk, operations, middle office, financial control, IT and BAC change/project managers and additionally to offshore and onshore profit & loss (P&L) production.
As a Finance Manager in this area you will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality support to the business to assist new business initiatives and structured trades.
- Understanding issues and suggesting solutions.
- Partnering with the business at early stages of transaction development to help asses profitability, viability, accounting/regulatory implications, allocation of ‘scarce’ resources etc to help the business make fully informed robust decisions.
- Validating and controlling the P&L results from production and quality assurance teams, this includes work to review the actual numbers as well as ongoing assessments of the control environment taking action as necessary to ensure integrity of the financial information
- Reviewing of independent price verification results ensuring issues satisfactorily resolved.
- Ongoing review of the adequacy, suitability and accuracy of reserves, coordinating with business and other stakeholders as necessary to implement changes if necessary to suit the market/book changes
- Proactively assisting and drive the transformation process.
- Ensuring the complete transition of the team
- Understanding and communicating the ramifications of the business environment changes such accounting, regulatory, market practice. Where appropriate commissioning analysis and reports from supporting functions.
- Auditing and regulatory co-ordination and face off.
- Developing and manage relationships with other key areas of the bank the validation & control of global credit correlation profit and Loss and risk. In addition to this you will; Perform detailed review, assessment and trend analysis of independent price verification (IPV) results across the entire global credit correlation franchise;
- Reviewing of quality assurance policy and framework; quantitative stress testing, pricing and model development (particularly with respect to base correlation and stochastic recovery models) and advising on and keeping third parties abreast of developments in credit derivative regulation and market practice. |
