A vacancy has become available as Finance Manager - Advanced Technology reporting to the Financial Controller TES, and manages a team of 3 project accountants across two locations. This role is based at Great Baddow, Chelmsford. BAE Systems Technology and Engineering Services (TES) provide research and development, consultancy and technology brokering services into defence, aerospace and commercial markets. With c.450 scientists and engineers TES works in collaboration and partnership with academia and innovative organisations throughout the supply chain, identifying, developing, pulling through and integrating technologies and capabilities to deliver discriminating solutions to its customers As a Finance Manager - Advanced Technology your main responsibilities will involve: Leadership and development of the Advanced Technology Finance team and support across the wider function where appropriate Support internal investment/divestment appraisal process Completion of all financial reporting requirements: IBP, Budget and forecasting, Theme and project review including preparation of CSRs and project packs, Reporting and analysis of PV, P&T and utilisation, Risk and opportunity reporting Financial management of projects including the review of contracts to ensure project delivery to cost, quality and schedule Control and reporting of provisions as required Liaise with Business Development, Commercial and other business representatives to ensure commercial deals and bids provide best value to the company Deliver team plans to ensure delivery of objectives and development needs Delivery of ad hoc information requests from Financial Controller or other stakeholders Assistance to business activity management and Shared Services management on in development and implementation of business improvement and process re-engineering initiatives. |

CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent Excellent communication skills and capable of influencing senior managers in other disciplines Ability to manage effective relationships with individuals of multidisciplinary backgrounds Ability to describe complex financial situations simply to ensure understanding of key stakeholders Ability to manage a geographically disparate team Must have the drive and determination to overcome obstacles and deliver against deadlines
