External Communications Officer
- The external communications officer plays a vital role in supporting all aspects of Group media relations. This includes managing day-to-day press office activities, leading the evaluation of the Group's media coverage, providing advice and support to colleagues across the Bank's international corporate affairs network and maintaining a powerful collection of images, videos and other media materials.
- External communications manages the Bank's relationship with the media in the UK and is a centre of expertise, providing strategic and tactical guidance to the global corporate affairs network. It also plays a role in investor communications through the annual report, results announcements and the annual general meeting.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide proactive support to enhance the effectiveness of the external communications team
- Key contact for the Bank's international corporate affairs network
- Collate and deliver daily Group press cuttings and manage UK media monitoring
- Manage Group media evaluation
- Maintain Group key messages and media collateral
- Management of Group photo library, including commissioning international photography
- Assist team in drafting and distributing press releases, organising interviews and preparing briefing documents
- Provide support for the production of the annual report and materials for the annual results and annual general meeting
- Co-ordinate media training programme for UK executives and maintain Group-wide media spokespeople list
- Assist with management of external agencies
- Coordination of media events
- Maintain elements of the internal and external websites
Qualifications: Bachelors
Experience: 5 years +
Languages: English : Speak / Write Fluently

Essential:
- Experience and understanding of media relations, preferably in an international environment
- Understanding of media evaluation methods
- Good all round communication skills
- Good planning, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to form successful working relationships with colleagues across the Group
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Advantageous:
- Understanding of banking and finance
