The workload in the International Tax function has increased dramatically and will continue to increase as Yahoo! grows organically and as a result of acquisitions. In addition, the standards for meeting US and international tax reporting and other regulatory requirements have become more rigorous especially in the transfer pricing arena. The role will be responsible for ensuring the requirements of our Swiss Principal structure are met and managing tax audits that will include dealing with the European restructuring transition periods. The EMEA Tax Director would assume a lead role in International Tax and shared responsibility for global restructuring and tax provision matters. Responsibilities: Lead International Tax role for EMEA liaising closely with the US Tax Planning team and Tax Accounting Group. Lead role on GRP, transfer pricing implementation, planning and treasury initiatives in EMEA Manage significant EMEA tax audits Identify tax planning opportunities M&A Transactions Provide tax advice regarding EMEA M&A transactions acting as the lead role for the integration of acquisitions into the Yahoo! legal structure and support to head of M&A planning. Act as link with and adviser to Business Development and Legal Interface with outside legal, tax and accounting advisers Provide tax advice regarding post-acquisition integration Act as tax advisor regarding legal entity structure Ensure appropriate transfer pricing structure is implemented Coordinate with Controller’s organization to ensure compliance requirements are met Ensure communication throughout the Tax Department Tax Provision Interact with the appropriate US Corporate tax personnel as well as PWC on a quarterly basis on various planning issues, including presentation of issues and the Company’s tax position Provide quarterly input on FIN48 position with respect to international tax issues |

Qualified accountant or lawyer (or equivalent tax qualification) with 10+ years Corporate Tax, especially in the area of international taxation within the EMEA region Very good communicator – particularly in translating tax technical material for non-tax audience Strong project management skills/multi-tasking ability Practical, pragmatic attitude International (some or all of: restructuring, transfer pricing, M&A) experience US tax experience a plus Ability to work independently Significant travel required within EMEA, as well as a few trips to the Corporate HQ yearly Familiarity with the commissionaire/limited risk models Treasury tax experience Fluency in French would be an advantage |
