The candidate will provide thought leadership and retail solution messaging both internally & externally as well as working very close with other Oracle Line of Businesses such as Oracle Communications Global Business Unit, Siebel, Oracle Applications and Oracle Technology team with a core focus on telecommunication and retail. The candidate will assist the local sales manager and act as a central point to assist in articulating the Oracle Retail Solution from POS – Merchandising in both functional & technical areas of expertise and manage time appropriately to support the sales team.

The candidate is expected to have a fair understanding of market trends in retail and telecommunication industries from a business perspective but also to understand and translate Oracle’s end to end offering from POS – Siebel – Oracle e-Business Suite and be able to articulate in a business context as well as a technical one.

The candidate will provide specific industry or product expertise to facilitate in deal strategies and assist with the closing of deals within the sales managers’ territory; interact with sales and pre-sales team from all lines of business to architect the solution. The candidate will also be expected to be a key figure in any RFP, Demo or POC scenario and leveraging different resources from the direct as well as indirect team.

Part of the role will also include providing staffing for conferences, analyst meetings, training and presenting as well as building demo’s, end to end Proof Of Concepts The candidate will collaborate with product strategy and product management to help shape the products based upon feedback from the marketplace, internal associates and key customers.

S/he will work in a non-routine and very complex environment, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. The candidate may provide training to field sales on industry/solutions and build and maintain a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.

5 years direct sales or sales consulting experience in the retail market.
5+ years enterprise application solution selling experience.
Subject matter expertise in retail space
Presentation and product demonstration experience.
Thorough knowledge of key industry leaders and management and Oracle competition.
Ability to demonstrate current retail competitive knowledge.
Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels (C level to Functional Managers to IT level).
Ability to discuss business processes in the retail industry.
Proven track record in managing and closing large enterprise application deals.
Ability to travel globally 50%-75% of time.
