DuPont Microcircuit Materials (part of the DuPont Electronics & Communications business) is a supplier of innovative materials to the automotive, telecommunication and photovoltaic (PV) industries. As a result of the company's extraordinary growth in the past decade, an opportunity has arisen for a Development Scientist to join our team at the European Technical Centre.
This customer facing role will encompass the capture, design and commercial realisation of new products to meet the technical needs of the crystalline silicon photovoltaics industry.
A keen commercial awareness is necessary to ensure that the highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.
From design concept through to full-scale manufacture, the products will comply with DuPont's stringent ethical, safety, quality and environmental standards.
The role will involve collaborating with other technical centres and leading academic institutions around the world to ensure that DuPont remains at the forefront of PV technology. A flexible approach to international travel is therefore essential. |

In addition to a PhD in a Chemistry-related discipline, you will have strong problem-solving skills. You will also need confident communication skills which are essential for working within a multi-disciplinary global team.
This position will require expertise in areas including inorganic chemistry, glass science, metallurgy and the electronic properties of materials.
Knowledge of thick-film technology would be an advantage.
