Desktop Build Group is a resource which works closely with the Sales Department to build ad hoc desktop solutions for our customers. The aim of the team is to increase our clients dependency to our product by creating desktop solutions, mainly spreadsheets, that use our Api. The successful candidate will be assigned to specific projects and have the ability to prioritize the workload. The projects have short/medium term life span. Projects include assisting customers migrating their worksheets from a competitor product to Bloomberg data and building sophisticated models in VBA that fills a product gap.
The role is client facing and the candidate must be comfortable discussing the project requirements with all players working in the financial markets. Because of the level of client and product exposure you would also be expected to provide valid feedback to the business in order to help improve our product.

-Exceptional knowledge of Excel and Excel VBA -The candidate must have previously worked in a financial markets environment and have a good understanding of different asset classes -Candidate must be proactive, energized, orientated and prepared to take ownership in a fast turnaround/development environment. -Knowledge of competitor products is not required though would be beneficial. -Strong communication skills, as the job involves daily interaction with Bloomberg customers and Bloomberg Sales Force is necessary.
