Oracle Retail Global Business Unit (RGBU) was formed about 5 years ago with the acquisition of the best in class companies Retek, Profitlogic, 360Commerce and others. RGBU offers the industry's broadest set of retail-specific solutions, including products that cover Merchandise Management, Warehouse Management, Data Warehouse, Replenishment, Pricing, Forecasting, Planning, etc. Oracle Retail, operating in more than 22 countries around the world, includes 20 of 20 top largest retailers around the world.

To maintain its market leading position the Oracle Retail Business Unit (RGBU) Consulting Practice seeks a Senior Delivery Lead/Programme Director to support the EMEA business. The role is pivotal for the implementation teams responsible for delivering projects. The main aims for the role are:

To develop long term valued relationships with clients
Successfully understanding and managing expectations throughout the implementation process
Ensure the delivery of high quality and appropriate solutions
Assure project delivery to approved financial targets (P/L responsibility).

Scope
Reports to the EMEA Consulting Practice Director
Works on designated projects within the Retail Global Business Unit
Will lead the Oracle Retail Consulting involvement on client projects

Responsibilities
Acting, networking and communicating as an ambassador for Oracle Retail.
Assist in ensuring that the Client Engagement team generate bids that reflect realistic project delivery time-scales, achievable financial targets, and best practice methods.
Producing a project plan that fully supports the bid requirements.
Ensuring that best delivery practice and methods for the implementation of Oracle Retail solutions have been adopted within the project plan.
Working with the operational team to ensure that the project commercials, time recording and invoicing mechanisms are set-up appropriately.
Managing Oracle Retail’s commercial responsibilities as appropriate to project circumstances
Monitoring and reporting the progress against the project plan.
Successfully managing project issues and risk to ensure the delivery of target project margin.
Driving the implementation of and managing any change to the project plan(s) and supporting commercials.
Building and maintaining strong client and partner relationships, conducive to incremental business development and effective project delivery.
Communicating the plan and gaining client buy-in and agreement
Ensuring clients are satisfied with the delivered project.
Providing leadership, motivation and direction for the project team.
Directly managing the performance of the consultants on the project.
Ensuring the lessons learnt on any project are communicated within Oracle Retail.
Working with the practice manager and resource leads to ensure effective resource use.
Maximising own billable work levels whilst completing other responsibilities.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the new processes, products and competitor activity where relevant to the designated project(s).
Working with the Client Engagement team to optimise commercial positioning and identify potential incremental business/additional commercial opportunities.

Experience: 10 years +

Prior consulting experience essential, including large-scale software implementations that incorporate application modifications and multi-site delivery models
Experience with (Oracle) retail software or direct retail industry experience required
Understanding of market leading project management software tools
Full life-cycle experience from bid/proposal development, commercial negotiation through to successful delivery preferred.
Proven track record in the management and reporting of project budget and schedule
PMI Certification preferred
