Credit Structurer
Credit Structuring is a client facing team within Barclays Wealth which straddles a wide range of geographic platforms and is focused on structuring complex credit transactions, raising awareness and driving sales of credit products, training of sales forces, and management of the absolute and relative profitability of the credit products. The team works with the full range of credit products available, which includes securities-based lending for equity release or leverage, residential and commercial mortgages. The structuring team works closely with the product developers to continually improve the available range of credit solutions, ensuring that the products are innovative and world leading in this field. This role will be primarily responsible for arranging financing for Wealth clients outside of the US against the collateral of either a marine or aviation asset. The primary responsibilities will include the following:

- Engage with Private Bankers to provide guidance and advice on Barclays Wealth’s capabilities to lend against marine and aviation assets including attending client meetings and conference calls to outline our capabilities.
- Work with Private Bankers to achieve a sufficient understanding of a client’s financial status and capabilities to support the servicing and repayment of any proposed loan.
- Development of a credit proposal and achievement of credit sanction to support a loan proposal.
- Provision of guidance as to commercial pricing for a loan.
- Post-sanction to negotiate with the client and the client’s representatives with the assistance of internal and/or external counsel to agree final documented terms for a sanctioned loan.
- Post drawdown management of facility terms and covenants and performance of the annual credit review.
- To work with the Head of Credit Structuring and Credit Risk to develop policy and mandate and scale to be aligned to the competitive needs of the market and our client base, as well as regular reviews of our CJ&S portfolio.
- To be the primary CJ&S lending representative of Barclays Wealth to the external markets for which the role has responsibility

Professional/Technical experience
An in-depth knowledge will need to be displayed in relation to:
• The marine and aviation markets across the globe, including the specific characteristics of each asset class and sub-asset class, their value (working with external valuers), their marketability, perfection of a security interest in the asset being financed and ability to enforce against the asset in the range of jurisdictions covered by the credit policy.
• The assessment of the creditworthiness of an individual or a wealth vehicle owned by an individual to assess debt service and repayment capability.
• The development of loan and security documentation for the marine and aviation asset classes and ability to work with counsel to tailor documentation to specific client or Credit Risk requirements and to accommodate bespoke structures, collateral, and monitoring arrangements.

Managerial experience
• At this stage, no experience of managing individuals is required. However, you will be able to effectively manage priorities and a workload of concurrently running complex transactions.

Academic and professional qualifications
• You will have a general or specific banking qualification or degree equivalence.

Language skills
• There are no specific language skill requirements although language capabilities will be a distinct advantage.

Personal attributes
• Strong interpersonal skills to enable the building of relationships with other teams and areas of the Bank.
• You will have a strong client focused mentality and proven negotiation skills, that will need to be used with both external clients and internal Relationship Teams.
