The EBRD’s Office of the General Counsel deals with all legal aspects of the Bank’s lending and investment transactions, handles all legal aspects of the Bank’s finance operations, including the Bank’s borrowings, liquid asset investments and derivative transactions, provides legal advice for institutional and administrative matters, and implements a legal technical assistance programme to support the legal transition process in the countries of central and eastern Europe and central Asia.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
• Working on borrowing operations under the Bank’s Global MTN programme, CP note issuing programmes and other types of funding operations.
• Working on derivatives and capital market transactions in established and emerging markets (including derivatives, repo and other master agreements).
• Other Treasury matters requiring legal advice.
Qualifications: Law Degree

• Have a law degree from a leading university in his or her home.
• Have at least six years of professional experience as a lawyer in derivatives and capital market transactions.
• Have acquired professional experience at a top rated law firm or a top rated banking or other financial institution and must have had direct, extensive contact with capital market professionals in such institution(s).
• Have an excellent command of the English language, including a demonstrated skill to draft and negotiate.
