The UK IPTV / online VOD market leads the world consumer engagement and penetration and is now entering an exciting and dynamic growth phase, with a number of new entrants to market. Microsoft sees the video opportunity as a high priority and intends MSN Video to become a premium video destination of choice over time. This has created a new opportunity in the Consumer &Online (C&O) UK portal team for a Content Acquisition and Product Manager. The Content Acquisition and Product Manager will be a key member of the MSN UK portal team and will report to the Senior Product Manager, Video.
Key Accountabilities Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, Video, the Content Acquisition and Product Manager is the primary business lead between internal stakeholders and external partners and will be responsible for driving business excellence, and maximising revenue potential in order to give MSN an industry leading position in online video.
Revenue & Profitability, Customer & Partner Engagement Negotiate and manage deals with content and syndication partners As trusted relationship manager, be the central point of contact for C&O’s relationships with content and syndication partners. This includes hosting regular partner review meetings, optimising business intelligence processes, and monitoring contracts through their lifecycle Manage content budget to meet and exceed Contribution Margin goals With key stakeholders, contribute to and implement existing & new channel and product strategies to deliver both consumer and advertiser requirements and to achieve revenue, page view, unique user and page views per unique user (pv/uu) goals Regular reporting and analysis of all performance measures Maintain and grow strong network with relevant industry bodies, film studios, content owners, producers and broadcasters at sales and executive levels.
Product Development Be a trusted influencer on behalf of the UK in the product planning process with Redmond international product manager(s) Lead local input for planning of subsequent versions of MSN Video and related products Work with Senior Product Manager, Channel Manager and Sales Specialist to monitor and improve performance for consumers, content partners and advertisers Work with Windows Live and complementary Microsoft properties to identify synergies and drive mutual growth

Market share Page views and pv/uu targets Successful negotiation and re-negotiation of contracts with multiple content and service partners Partner satisfaction P & L management of channel plans & budgets, including contribution margin Implementation of channel plans and completion of regular reviews Identify, develop, launch and manage profitable new products for MSN Ensuring products delivered on-time and that development captures UK requirements Revenue - (influencer role - revenue owned by Sales Strategy) |

1) Essential Experience Experience of film and/or television content acquisition experience together with experience managing on-line content products and/or channels, specific product management Applicants must be commercially astute and have a strong working knowledge of the online VOD market, film and television industry, content windows and licensing models Experience in managing online content partnerships Experience of developing successful new online content products Substantial budget management, achievement of demanding revenue targets
