To support the implementation and development of the data warehouse and reporting architecture that will support Lloyd’s vision “to be the platform of choice”. To work effectively within ITG and business areas across the Corporation and implement and develop the activities defined to support the strategic vision for the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Strategy.
Major responsibilities and accountabilities:
•Development and support of the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence strategy ensuring alignment between the implementations of the delivery and development teams within the Data Management Function.
•Support the entire Data Warehouse development lifecycle with emphasis on dimensional modelling, Staging, ETL design and development, deployment, maintenance, flexibility and growth.
•Work with the members of the Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence team in establishing future technological direction of Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence architectures across the Corporation.
•Work with other members of the Data Management team to assess solutions based on their business value and optimise the implementations to achieve the target reporting/analytical architecture.
•Work with other members of the team to assess Data Warehouse development strategy and establish policies and guidelines while ensuring standards and best practices are adhered to at all times.
•Monitor own task assignments within the data warehouse development team to ensure successful and timely completion of projects.
•Support the maintenance and management of metadata framework for all Data Management owned systems.
•Provide Data Warehouse design, problem solving and technology support at an enterprise level.
•Support the adoption of industry standards regarding Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence architecture best practices, tools and applications throughout the Corporation.
Working on projects, such as; Solvency II.

•Proven practical experience in Microsoft tools: SQL Server 2005/2008, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
•Proven experience in developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions involving Data Warehouse, Data Marts.
•Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), OLAP and MDX technologies.
•Knowledge of the London Insurance Market.
•Proven expertise on Ralph Kimball methodologies.
•Knowledge of relational & dimensional model, logical and physical database design and modelling tools such as Erwin.
•Proven experience in other areas of SQL Server development technology including stored procedures, functions and triggers as well as clustering and T-SQL.
•Ability to develop and support code standards, best practice, configuration and change management processes and procedures and show the ability to operate in an iterative development environment
•Solid understanding and ability to develop policies, standards and procedures related to the Data Warehouse and Reporting Architecture domain and Metadata Management as well as technical components of a systems development cycle.
•Demonstrates a strong awareness of the uses and application of information, data and reporting architecture within the insurance industry
•Proven experience of working with SCRUM – Agile development methodology
