Business Analyst, Middle Office Structured Finance
To co-ordinate the booking, transaction processing and control settlements for the Structured Finance transactions, working closely with the various Operations and Support units globally.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- To support the global Structured Finance business, primarily focused on the Transaction Programme Authorisation transactions.
- Work closely with both the Structured Finance Front Office and Product Control Corporate Finance to ensure the bookings & downstream activities represents the substance of the structures.
- Co-ordinate and work closely with the various operations and support units to ensure effective end to end booking, processing, settlements and reconciliations of the periodic settlements and events throughout the tenor of the structures.
- Perform a Risk Control function ensuring that the relevant operational risks for all new transactions and subsequent life-cycle events are managed, controlled and mitigated.
- Robust data maintenance with constant monitoring of periodic settlements and life cycle events.
- Management of any operational issues related to the business including administrative and agency facing roles for the structures.
- Produce detailed Transactions Manuals for each structure that documents the roles & responsibilities of all relevant parties. Disseminate the Transactions Manuals to the relevant parties to ensure proper control and understanding of each transaction.
- Escalation of all exceptions, risks and KCS / Phoenix breaks with timely resolutions.
- Ensure audit issues are being addressed and solutions provided.
- Continuously seek to improve the existing process and controls.
- Participate in evaluating system enhancements, UATs and projects.
- Periodic review of Process Maps/DOIs/checklists to ensure complete and accurate recording of process procedure.
- Ensure periodic reporting is performed timely & is up-to-date.
- Understanding of corporate Finance tax structures
- Knowledge of PSGL
- Knowledge of MXG MUREX, FEDS / OPICS
- Excel, Word, PC literacy

- Degreed or equivalent with proven experience in Operations, Settlements, Trade Support or related support unit.
- Good Derivatives and/or Fixed Income product knowledge.
- Experience in life cycle support for complex & exotic structured transactions.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to details with an inquiring mind.
- Self-motivated, focused and performance driven candidate who thrive under pressure.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A team player, dependable with strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- For internal candidates - familiar with the bank's risk management policies and standards.
- For internal candidates - knowledge of Wholesale Bank's structure, business and support units would be advantageous.
- Ability to forge relationships at all levels
- Ability to prioritise workload within the requirements of each individual transaction
