The role is for an outstanding professional to join the Investment Banking Audit Team within the UBS Group Internal Audit Department. Based in London, the successful applicant would be part of a dynamic team covering UBS Investment Bank’s activities throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The relatively flat structure of the Regional team means that this role reports directly to one of the three Regional managers who report into the Regional Head of Investment Banking Audit.
The role primarily involves planning, executing and reporting the results of business audits. Specifically:
• Analysing and assessing the risks (market, credit, operational, legal and compliance) assumed by the business;
• Identifying and evaluating the effectiveness of controls designed to address those risks;
• Providing practical, innovative, and value-adding solutions to issues identified, and
• Preparation of reports of review findings for UBS senior management at local, global functional and Group level.
The role will provide exposure to all investment banking products, but will focus on the audit of trading activities (both cash products and exchange traded & OTC derivatives) within the equities and fixed income businesses, together with the related support and control areas. There will also be some exposure to UBS Investment Bank’s M&A Advisory business.
Whilst the role is for an experienced financial services auditor, structured product training will be provided as part of a Core training programme. |

• University Degree (2.1 or 1st class honours)
• Accountancy qualification or similar (MBA, CFA)
• Experience of risk focused controls/systems based auditing techniques
• Good knowledge of investment banking products and processes for Investment Banking experienced candidates
• (Director position) At least 5 years' post-qualified experience in either a top investment bank, or a big 4 audit firm (with relevant financial services experience)
• Strong team player
• Knowledge of capital and financial markets regulations would be advantageous
• Knowledge of compliance and legal requirements for investment banking activities would be advantageous
• Awareness of the key issues facing the investment banking industry
• Strong project management skills required
• Clear verbal and written communication skills are viewed as essential
• Ability to speak a second (European) language would be an advantage, but is not a requirement
• Willingness to travel (an indicative level would be 3-6 weeks per annum) |
