A challenging new opportunity has arisen for an Audit Manager to work within the Programmes and Support Audit Function based in Preston, Lancashire. The Programmes and Support Audit Function covers UK-Based businesses: Military Air Solutions; Submarine Solutions; and our shareholding in the Surface Ships, also EFA GmbH, Gripen International, Panavia GmbH and CS&S International. This operating group will have a vital role in supporting the armed forces of our customers as well as developing world-leading security capabilities. It is an objective of Internal Audit to provide excellent career development to the team. Those joining the team would expect to spend approximately 3 years in the post before moving to an operational role within the business. The role involves a balance between reviews within specific business groups and work conducted corporately - involving exposure to key governance forums and stakeholders within the organisation. There is the opportunity to work with auditors from other disciplines on operationally orientated audits with Finance content As an Audit Manager your main responsibilities will involve: Assess and challenge business risks. Manage the planning, conduct and delivery of a portfolio of audit assignments to achieve the targets and milestones agreed as part of the annual audit programme. Co-ordinate and review work of other auditors and team members seconded from the business as subject matter experts. Manage the production of clear and concise reports containing recommendations to management based on objective analysis of information from each audit assignment. These audit findings are discussed with local managers and directors and actions agreed prior to circulating reports to senior management. Contribute to the development of processes within Internal Audit to continuously improve the overall quality of audit work and its value to Group; Play a leading role in developing the relationship between the Internal Audit department and local business unit management and other assurance providers. |
