The EBRD is the largest private equity funds investor in the EBRD countries of operations with capital commitments of over €2 billion. EBRD’s support of the private equity fund managers helps improve the supply of equity capital and accelerates the development and institutionalisation of the private equity industry in the region. An Analyst / Associate Banker is sought to work in the EBRD Headquarters in London with ability/willingness to relocate to one of the EBRD Resident Offices in the future. The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year contract. He/she will work closely with more senior team members in structuring and closing transactions as well as monitoring and managing the projects.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables · In any given project, work as a project team member throughout the whole project life cycle. Tasks will include project screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, preparation of internal and external documentation, monitoring and disposal (if applicable) of projects. · Monitor the selected region or country’s economic activities relevant to private equity investments and report it to the Team frequently. · Monitor existing projects and proactively engage him/herself in the oversight. · Attend internal and external meetings relevant to an effective monitoring of the portfolio. · Support more senior bankers in preparing FI country and sector strategies and other internal documentation and monitoring portfolios. · Assist in maintaining and constructing portfolio database, market and sector statistics, coordinating with co-investors and prospects, preparing clients meetings and in addressing other business needs. · Assist more senior bankers in reviewing fund investment proposal where required. · Assist in developing ad-hoc databases to support the equity funds team. · Assist in preparing power point presentations for internal and external audience. · Prepare high level quantitative analyses of the portfolio and prospective projects. · Project related work will encompass a wide range of administrative and operational back-up tasks for the portfolio and the prospective projects. |

· Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience for Analyst level and 3-4 years for Associate level, from a leading investment bank, private equity firm or asset management firm and/or other relevant private sector financial institutions, including investment companies in all characteristics. · A strong interest in the economies of the region in which the EBRD operates and the policy objectives underlying the EBRD’s direct and third-party managed investment activities. · Relevant skills and experience in investing in financial institutions/industrial companies. · Advanced financial skills with good knowledge of IFRS accounting. · Knowledge and experience in reviewing legal documentation is an advantage. · Sound level of investment skills with a good understanding of credit issues and some experience in structuring and executing transactions. · Degree from a leading university, preferably an MBA or other relevant post graduate degree. A recognised professional designation such as CFA is an advantage. · Computer literate with excellent Excel skills and ability to produce financial projections and financial models is a pre-requisite. · Excellent written and oral communications skills in English. · Knowledge of Russian or other Eastern European language is an advantage. |
