Financial Markets Advisory Associate
BlackRock Solutions (“BRS”) is a leading provider of risk technology products globally. BRS provides risk reporting on in excess of $9 trillion of client assets on an ongoing basis. The FMA group has performed valuation and risk assessment assignments on over $6 trillion of assets in the last twelve months, including assignments in the U.S., Europe and Asia. It currently manages in excess of $160 billion of assets, concentrated in residential mortgage loans and securities, including CDOs; commercial real estate loans and securities; and credit derivatives. The Financial Markets Advisory Group (“FMA”) is an advisory unit within BRS. FMA’s primary clients are banks, insurance companies, large institutional investors, central banks, finance ministries and regulatory agencies.

FMA’s primary activities are:
• Valuation and Risk Assessment of securities, loan and derivative portfolios
• Strategic advisory engagements, focused on capital markets matters
• Asset management and disposition of distressed portfolios

BRS operates independently of BlackRock’s traditional portfolio management activities with client information protected by an informational barrier. This institutional discipline, combined with exceptional risk analytics and expertise, has led to the FMA team become a leading provider of services at a critical juncture of the global capital markets and credit crisis. All of BlackRock operates as a fiduciary for client assets and minimizes conflicts by not trading any asset classes for its own account on a proprietary basis.
