Financial Accountant - Reporting
Financial reporting and analysis is a key part of this role. You will use strong analytical skills to understand the impact of the financial trends and anticipate impact on the future business results. This will enable improved understanding of the financial implications of decisions. The role will also require you to contribute towards associated commentaries required for Senior Management.

You will interact with other Finance teams to have a full understanding of performance trends and input into the outlook process if required.. You will advise members of Senior Management Team on adverse performance trends and escalate any area of risk or concern.

The role holder will contribute to project initiatives, taking responsibility for the development and implementation of assigned deliverables and ensuring these are delivered. The role holder will also contribute towards month-end accounts; delivering requirements for the month end process.

The most important element of this role is the ability to take the analysis you have done and create commentary that is used by senior managers to make business decisions. It is imperative that the successful candidate can demonstrate that they have produced the commentaries themselves and delivered them to senior managers. This requires more than purely collating this information - and we will want you to demonstrate where your commentaries have had an impact on the business decision-making process. The successful candidate will also be a qualified accountant (or equivalent), with experience in financial/accounting processes and a strong understanding of accounting principles; with the ability to understand and analyse complex financial information.
You will have the ability to liaise with stakeholders and provide an insight into key areas of focus in the financial result.

You will need an understanding of profit/cost drivers relevant for own area of work; demonstrate strong analytical skills and able to interpret complex information (which may contain uncertainties and/or contradictions) and identify implications for the business.

An understanding the marketplace is key, along with competitor activity, regulatory environment and understanding of financial dynamics of insurance.
